Systematic Innovation Certification Programme – Project Requirements

In order to successfully complete our full certification programme, each delegate must successfully complete THREE projects.

There is a wide range of flexibility in terms of what projects are acceptable. In general terms, the only essential element is that each project must contain a strong element of innovation. We also strongly recommend that projects are seen to be relevant to the prevailing needs of the delegate’s sponsor and should deliver tangible benefit to that sponsor.

The criteria that will be used to determine successful completion of a project comprise at least
one of the following:

  1.

submission, through the sponsor, of an official patent application, or

  2.

audited account of tangible benefit delivered to organization in terms of revenue generated or money saved, or

  3.

where it is impossible to truly quantify the financial benefit of a project (e.g. in ‘people problems’, or strategic studies), the delegate must be able to demonstrate benefit to the organization through a commendation from their direct supervisor

Teams: in some problem scenarios, delegates may wish to work in a team setting. Maximum allowed team size is 4 people. Every delegate must complete at least one of their three projects individually.

Selection of projects: projects will be agreed with the tutor on a case-by-case basis during the
programme
